GGMMMU ~ Representing Demons and their Hunters with an Interview is author A.S. Fenichel

A.S. Fenichel gave up a successful career in New York City to follow her husband to Texas and pursue her lifelong dream of being a professional writer. She’s never looked back.

A.S. adores writing stories filled with love, passion, desire, magic and maybe a little mayhem tossed in for good measure. Books have always been her perfect escape and she still relishes diving into one and staying up all night to finish a good story.

Multi-published in erotic paranormal, contemporary and historical romance, A.S. is the author of the Mayan Destiny series, Christmas Bliss and many more. With several books currently contracted to multiple publishers, A.S. will be bringing you her brand of romance for many years to come.

Originally from New York, she grew up in New Jersey, and now lives in the East Texas with her real life hero, her wonderful husband. When not reading or writing she enjoys cooking, travel, history, and puttering in her garden.

You can find out about the book which contains the demons and hunters that she will be representing below the interview.

That being said, here is the interview:

Can you describe for us, what the demons in your book are like? A.S. : Ascension is book one in The Demon Hunters series. Essentially, demons are coming up from hell and trying to take over London. Throughout most of the book there are two kinds of demons. Trebox are the size of a short human with gray/green scaly skin. They have limited intelligence. The Malleus demons are huge, seven foot tall monsters with dark slimy skin and enormous heads. They’re not too smart but strong and tireless.

There are a few other’s but I’ll leave them as a surprise.

What is the hunter’s greatest weapon against them?
A.S. : Hunters are smart, well trained and work together. It’s the hunter’s world that is under attack and having the most to lose is a big motivator. A good sword comes in handy too.

What do you envision their greatest characteristic, ability or power to be? Their worst? A.S. : Belinda is noble in ways not often associated with women of the nineteenth century. She’s strong of mind and heart.
I don’t know if you can call it a characteristic, but my biggest fear for the hunters is that they may lose their way and become like what they hunt.

Would you consider your monster to be good or bad? What is their greatest enemy? Do they have any allies?
A.S. : So far all the monsters in The Demon Hunters are bad. I’m not saying that can’t change at some point. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds.

Name any two creatures that you would love to see go toe to toe in a battle? You will be judged for creativity. ;-) Feel free to describe the battle.

A.S. : So, remember that monster under your bed? He would sometimes hide in your closet, especially when the closet door was ajar. There really was nothing scarier than that unknown beast hiding and waiting to grab you when your guard was down.

How cool would it be if something like Frankenstein’s monster took him on? I mean the thing that scared you most as a child against a monster who heartbreakingly just wants to love and be loved in return. It would be an epic battle and Frankenstein’s monster might just win you over and get what he most desires.

Choose three of the following and tell us what your creature would do with them, make out of them, use them for or what reaction they would have to them: an apple, an gemstone, a silver chain, a fish, a rat, a deer, a toad, a piece of pizza heavily dosed with garlic, a flower, treasure belonging to someone else, fire, a spider, a worm, a ball of string, a microphone and speakers, a wooden club, a mirror, a book, a cemetery, a boat, a moonlight bonfire, a sunny afternoon, a walk through the forest on an overcast day, a wooden stick, a Popsicle, a broom, a tree, a lost person, a baby, a body of water, a cross, a cage, wolfs bane, a rock, a rubber band, a chicken, a rabbit, a cave, rope, or a piece of candy.A.S.: 1. treasure belonging to someone else – The demons in Ascension would likely use this to lure in an unsuspecting victim.

2. a moonlight bonfire – the perfect opportunity for a ritual sacrifice.

3. a cave – Ideal for opening gates to the demon realm and hiding captured humans awaiting sacrifice day.

Which type of monster do you think would make the best love interest for your monster and why? The worst?
A.S. : Love interest? I cannot imagine this. Maybe the Demon Master and a female vampire might appeal to him or maybe a certain demon hunter.
LOL! I had to ask as most of the books that I read feature romance. ;-)

What scares you?
A.S. : Almost everything in horror movies scares me. I can barely watch violence on TV or in the movies. Steven King books scare me and I love them. I have a bee phobia. Those little buzzing bugs make the hair on my neck stand up and I just want to scream and run. I do my best to control this impulse and act like a grown woman. ;)

What is your monster most afraid of? What makes it happy?
A.S. : The demons are afraid of the Master. I’m not sure what the Master is afraid of yet, but we’ll find out. Chaos is like ambrosia to the demons.

What type of candy would you be apt to grab? Give out for Halloween?A.S. : Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. YUM!

What is your monster’s favorite meal?
A.S. : They’ll eat anything they can get their lips on, similar to vultures.

What do you think is the most mis-construed ideas about demons and hunters?
A.S. : That demon hunters are all male or come from one kind of background. Lady Belinda Clayton will change that opinion on the first page of Ascension.

People go about their day ignoring the monster who passed them on the street. They tell themselves that they just saw a man or maybe the man was deformed. People are blind and that blindness has allowed the Demon Master to build his army.

What is a least known trait about them?
A.S. : They fear death.

What is your favorite type of monster to write about? Read about? A.S. : I seem drawn to demons in every time period in my writing. I love to read about witches and warlocks.

  2. I definitely love that you have a kick butt female as your demon hunter. I've always believed that women can do anything men can.
I love that you read Stephen King's book even though they frighten you! I adore anything scary. But I'm the opposite reading about the stuff scares me more than watching anything ever did. I grew up with 3 older brothers so at a very very young age I was watching horror movies and learned to love them. My mom always knew whenever we were at the video store she could find me in the Disney or Horror sections. :)
Thanks for the interview! I'll be adding this book to my list.
