Lions, Tigers, and Sexy Bears Oh My by Candace Havens ~ review and giveaway

Book Description:

A Montana town where no one is who they seem....

Everything about runaway heiress Ainsley McLeon screamed trouble—from her luscious midnight locks to her Louboutin-clad toes.  Yet sexy, stoic bar owner Luc couldn’t deny the instant connection he felt to the tempting stranger…or the long-dead feelings she evoked.  She could work in his pub until her truck was fixed but after that she had to leave town for good.

Ainsley traveled with her own emotional baggage and there was no way she'd fall for the bear-tempered Luc...no matter how many passionate nights she spent in his bed or how safe she felt in his muscular arms. Can these two opposites find love in the middle of a blizzard, or will Luc's darker side and Ainsley's past catch up with them?

My Thoughts:

Ainsley McLeon is not a lion shifter like you might guess. She is only a human. An heiress on the run from thugs. I really liked her. :-)

A tiger causes her to have a car accident while driving along a country road. It is a weird occurrence because it seems like the tiger is protecting her and even laughing at her jokes. The tiger leaves when the sheriff shows up.

After the accident, Ainsley is left with no vehicle and minimal cash. She won't use her credit card or bank account for fear that the people that tried to kill her will track her. She ends up in Luc's bar looking for a job. She doesn't know why the bear of a man is so grumpy but she is determined to make him hire her.

Luc has been suffering from the pain of losing his wife and child. He wants nothing to do with the human woman who sets his body on fire. He feels bad for her though and decides to help her.

The two eventually settle into a relationship and she tells Luc about her family troubles and the people looking for her. He promises to help her even though he knows that will mean she can leave. He'll miss her but he won't ask her to stay with him.

There are lots of sweet moments, hot scenes, some growling, shifting, a take no lip human woman, some stupid man moments, and some fighting. :D

If you like shifters, you probably want to give this one a gander. :-)

I received an ecopy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I liked this book and I really hope that there will be more books with these characters. Ian needs his own HEA!

the first lines of the summary made think about Tranforming love... after all jen is an heiress and she is running ( not for the same reason, and she end up in a bar with a grumpy shifter. it' stop there but the similarity made me smile^^

i'm really tempted now so thank you for the discovery

  4. Wow! Lion, tiger, and bear shifters sounds exciting. Will be putting this book on my wishlist. I have enjoyed some of Candace's other books from the Charmed (Bronwyn the Witch)series and the Caruthers Sisters series.

I know that its an older series so we dont necessarily have them in the book store. There available but may not be on the shelf.

    10. .....sadly no ç_ç not at all completely impossible ....i know of a website that sell used book too but with free shipping worldwide so it could be a solution but the person that bough for me on the bookdepository will perhaps refuse to use it if it doesn't feel secure enough so i do want to read them, and in order ^^, but it will perhaps have to go on the dreams destroyed list... i will keep you updated

    14. no the bookdepository would have have only if it was reissued... they could be on abebook but there are huge shipping fee so i don't really have hope for this series but i guess it's nothing. i discovered it too late now i will try to concentrate on those i can hope to get

    15. :( we'll find other things. Im pretty sure I liked the Dakota Cassidy series better anyways(the accidental series). Not to say that the Charmed one wasnt good I just dont remember much about it. Plus with the Cassidy you dont have to read those in order! I know we prefer to but if you find one you could always read it to see how her writing style is. :) Shes still releasing new ones in it too so not really an old series.

    16. those are available at least part of them ( and i saw several other looking as from the same series on the bookdep) but i don't know why... i was realy intrigued by those charmed.

Anyway: there are n't in the bookstores here so perhaps when i can order from bookdepo i will add one to see what i think of them

and i do have a huge wishlist already so don't worry if i don't add more for once or that they are not available.. it's not your fault ( if one day i go in the US or perhaps even return in london i could try the bookstores there in case) until then i have already enough to read and be happy

    17. If you come here plan on having an extra bag to return with full of books. :) But yes we always have stuff to read but its nice to get more. :)

    18. ^^ i'm already thinking about several luggages with only a few t)shirt and perhaps 2 pants to have all teh weights ready for books^^ but it's only a dream for the near futur ( now when i did when to london i did came back with a lot more too^^)

and it's true getting more it's always great but we can also realise that if we don't have something a week ( or in my case sometime smonths) it's not a disaster either^^ make it even better when i do receive or buy something
