Review of Hide & Seek by Aimee Laine

Hide & Seek (Games of Zeus #1)

To start with, it was a completely different PNR concept. There were no werewolves, vampires, faeries, witches etc. The hero and heroine were completely human and mostly normal. Normal in this case, was anything but boring. I love a good werewolf book more than the average person but it's nice to to have a change of pace every once in awhile. This was definitely a great option for something different.

The main characters are Lexi Shepherd and Tripp Fox. They are two people drawn into an age old game of cat and mouse. The are like yin and yang and were never supposed to meet, or were they? From the first moment they are drawn to each other. They have a million obstacles to overcome including themselves if they decide that they want to be together. The characters were very believable and charismatic. It was easy to root them on.

Hide & Seek is an unpredictable adventure. It's a thrilling chase from begining to end waiting to see who will catch who or if someone gets away. There are many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. In addition to the adventure the romance was good as well. Tripp Fox was very charming.

This book really did have it all, a great cast of characters, a new twist on PNR, and a wonderful plot full of mystery, action, and romance. What more could you possibly ask for?

I enjoyed it immensely. I had a hard time putting it down. There was not a boring moment the book! I can not wait to see what Aimee Laine has in store for us next.

I recommend it to everyone who likes romance but is looking for something a little less predictable or those who are looking for a new type of PNR. Either way you'll be glad you tried it!

I also have to say that I love that they have the perfect last names. They are very meaningful! :D

I won a copy from J Taylor Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

You can get your copy from Amazon or Barnes & Noble

I'd love to know what you're thinking. Please leave a comment!

  1. Having always been interested in mythologies and lore, I was keen to get my hands on this new novel by Aimee Laine. Games of Zeus? What could that be all about? The mind boggled. So when the review copy arrived in my inbox, I jumped in with both feet. Easy to do with the way Ms. Laine sets the stage at the outset. We start on an intriguing high and the story never lets go.
Hide and Seek takes established Greek mythology, sprinkles it with a dash of paranormal, and then shakes it all up with a healthy dose of passionate romance.
